The YATELEY CAMERA CLUB’S EXHIBITION 18TH MAY 2009
Once again this annual exhibition was very well received by the public. Attracting entries from Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire.
On show were up to 300 exhibition quality prints including some from Gerald Howarth from the House of Commons collections.
The Yateley Camera Club support, as our charity “The Wells for Uganda” This year we raised over £300 for the local scout group to go over to Uganda, at their own expense to arrange the digging and finishing the filtration plants to give these people a local supply of CLEAN water. Thank you for the public’s support for this project.
The Yateley Camera clubs members arrange displays as panels and were sorted by a very well qualified Judge, Kevin Herbert and decided the best Theme Panel at the show was submitted by Claude Kensett with runner-up Jamie D,Andrade. The Open section the Winner was a Lady, Pat Wheeler who also was the winner of the Digital Camera the first prize in the raffle. Placed second in the open competition was Ernie Loft who every year serves the refreshments at the exhibition. The public are invited to pick their favourite print of the Y C C ‘s displays and the Winner was The picture of a Red Kite by Keith Taylor, by a clear majority. Digital images were projected The Winner of the Theme panel was Derek Trendell, our club Chairman with the runner-up Richard Wills. The Open section won by Rick Roberts with Ray Clune coming Second. The Colour Slide (yes we still run slides) Theme section Winner, Claude Kensett with the runner-up Derek Trendell. The open section, the winner, Ernie Loft with Roland Portsmouth coming second.
The “Francis Spooner Award” goes to challenge 8 of our local clubs to compete against each other to win this very nice trophy, last years runner up actually won this year The Windlesham and Camberley club and this year’s runner-up was Farnborough Camera Club, the winners last year.
Presentations, The Y C C were very grateful to Gerald Howarth M P for presenting the awards and also for his comments. The Mayor of Yateley Town Council John Keane, presented the Francis Spooner Award to Windlesham Camera Club. Then drew the Winning tickets of the Raffle.
